Ten old pianos, elaborated by street-artists and positioned in a strategic location in the town, play an original suite composed with spatial effects and choreographies involving the pianists. One of the pianos is free: eveybody can sit down and play, improvising on the sounds of the suite.
Every piano is on sale both as a musical instrument and as a work of art. The amount is donated to a charity project.
#10 Pianos Street was staged and perforrmed for the first time in May 2013 in the prestigious Modern Art Gallery of Milan (GAM) within Piano City 2013. More than 5.000 people visited and enjoyed it during the two-day-installation. All the pianos have been sold before the end of Piano City, and the fund raised was donated to Missione Sogni. #10 Pianos Street has been performed again in 2014, in 2015 during the Expo in Città Premiere, in 2016 and in 2017 by Brera Design District in the Milan Design Week.
From October 2017 #10 Pianos Street is hosted by the Teatro del Buratto in the new Teatro Maciachini in Milan.
